Criminal record documentation now required in Basel land

Switzerland is one of the most favourite countries to live in Europe. Expats, assigned to Switzerland should consider the latest updates regarding the Swiss immigration process and requirements to work in the country.

The Department of Migration in the Canton of Basel Land now requires all non-EU citizens entering on an assignment, for longer than 12 months, to apply for a criminal record check in their origin country.

The documentation will be requested by the Registration Office of Residency, and must presented along with a certified translation in either German, French, Italian or English. Authorities will only approve registration if all the necessary documents are provided.
