Having surveyed more than 14,000 expats worldwide, the Expat Insider Survey from InterNations ranks the best countries for expats according to their career opportunities for expats and the results are extremely positive. 

Let’s have a look at the top five countries to boost your professional career abroad! 

1. The United States of America

With positive job prospects for foreigners and a good state of the local economy, the USA ranks first on the list. Nevertheless, the good career options have a cost in this country: work-life balance. According to the survey, the USA ranks 51st of 67 when the work-life balance is taken into consideration.

2. United Kingdom

A tradition expat country, the United Kingdom remains on the first positions of the list, still offering plenty of opportunities for expats. However, the high cost of living is one of the current concerns of the expat living in the country. In fact, one in four survey respondents mentioned that their disposable income is not enough to cover all their expenses in the UK.

3. Taiwan

The first country in Asia from the list, Taiwan not only offers good job prospects but also job security for expats and good working environments.

4. Ecuador

Being one of the friendliest countries worldwide, Ecuador is also one of the best places for making a career move and enjoy a friendly working environment. 

5. Romania

Landing on the 5th position of the list, Romania combines a low cost of living with excellent career opportunities, making it a good choice for price-sensitive expats. Despite this positive characteristics, Romania also one of the longest working hours – an average of 49.2 hours per week!
