We relocated "temporarily" to the Middle East 18 years ago as part of my company's expansion plans.
When Jenny took voluntary redundancy a year ago, this made us start to reconsider our future. So, we are relocating back to our home town in the U.K., where I was born and our friends, family and our family home are.
We leave Dubai after nearly 18 years with mixed feelings. It has been a wonderfull experience living and working in Dubai and throughout the Middle East, and we will miss the sunshine and the friends we have made.
One of our biggest concerns in moving was sending our cat, Ellie, back to the U.K. but this proved easy once we were clear on what documentation was required. We are excited to be moving permanently back to our home town on the south coast, and to be able to spend time with our family and friends in the U.K. This will be mixed with extensive travel during the first year we are home.
