We know that moving internationally can be a highly stressful time. Our virtual consultations tool aims to simplify the way we quote for your move and provide you with the support you need to relocate with ease. We listed below some of our frequently asked questions around our virtual consultations service to help you get started.

What is a virtual consultation?

Virtual consultations or ( virtual survey estimate) are the digital solution that Crown Relocations offers to people who need to relocate between states or internationally. They are done through an app, compatible with both Android and IOS operating systems. The process is similar to a video call during which, you’ll virtually meet with your consultant. At a time convenient to you, they’ll ask you to walk them round your home. Using your phone camera to share with your consultant what you would like to take with you and that’s how we will estimate the volume of the move. Virtual consultations are a great opportunity to ask questions or discuss any concerns about the shipment of your belongings,your new destination, the immigration process or transit times. 

The recording is used to quote your move. It also helps you to create an inventory of your shipment and claim for any possible damages during transit (if you acquire Crowncare transit protection ). All calls are confidential and protected by Crown’s global privacy policies. 

How do I book my consultation?

 The easiest way to do it is through our website. Submit your information and one of our Relocation Advisor will be getting in contact to schedule the consultation. Crown also sends some additional information about the destinations, which is important to consider when planning a move.

How far in advance do I need to book my virtual consultation?

The best time to start the process of an international or domestic move is 2-3 months prior to the likely move date. Our recommendation, because of the availability, is to program the consultation at least 2 weeks in advance.

What do I need to do to prepare for the consultation?

Once our relocation advisor schedules the consultation, they will be sending a confirmation email with  instructions to prepare for the virtual survey. Be sure to download the app and follow the instructions specified in the email confirmation 

How long does a virtual consultation typically take?

It depends on the volume of the move. It’s main objective is to run through with the client all the items to be included in the move. For a full move, a virtual consultation might take 40 or 50 minutes.

What will happen after the consultation?

After 48 business hours, the Sales Consultant will estimate the volume of the move and will prepare a formal proposal.

Tips to improve your virtual consultation

  
Here are a few things that you can do prior to your appointment that will help us conduct the consultation efficiently:

  • Ensure your mobile phone or tablet is fully charged and connected to your Wi-Fi network and is capable of streaming video. If using cellular service – 3G or 4G is required.
  • Open up all closets, cabinets and drawers, especially in the kitchen.
  • Advice consultant of any high value, fragile, sentimental items or any items that may require a specialist (electrician, handyman, etc.).
  • Turn on all lights in your home for better visibility.
  • Have a flashlight and a measuring tape available.
