Latest update on the Middle East conflict situation and impact on regional operations

Crown employees are safe and well; and our facilities in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Dubai remain unaffected and fully operational. .

Outbound shipments from the Middle East

Shipping lines have suspended all services from Gulf ports. Crown Relocations UAE has moved proactively to remove all containers from the port to the safety of our facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. No confirmed bookings or container rates are available for personal effects shipments to or from the Middle East. Where shipping lines have provided provisional rates, they are inclusive of ‘War Risk Surcharges’ (WRS) or ECS Emergency Contingency Surcharge (ECS).

Carriers and logistics partners are seeking alternative routes via Oman or Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At present, these options are unavailable for personal effects shipments and come with significant challenges and much higher transportation costs. Crown Relocations UAE is advising customers to store in our secure facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi until normal services resume.

IMPORTANT

Customers must be advised to expect significantly increased costs and delays to shipments in transit to the Middle East. Additional charges imposed by the shipping lines for shipments already in transit will include War Risk Surcharge and surcharges to cover deviation costs and onward transportation from the alternative port

Next Steps

This situation continues to evolve rapidly. Crown Middle East remains in close and continuous contact with vessel operators, authorities, and partners. We are committed to making decisions that prioritise the safety of our people and the interests of our customers.
