Move For Hunger honors Crown Relocations as International Mover of the Year

While we’re always pleased to win awards for our professional accomplishments and client partnerships, we also work quietly behind the scenes on our commitment to corporate social responsibility. One of our major initiatives is our commitment to fight against hunger in North America.

This is why we are especially thrilled to be recognized by Move for Hunger as the 2014 International Mover of the Year!

The Mover of the Year Award is presented to the relocation company that best represents Move For Hunger’s spirit of philanthropy and service. Crown Relocations was recognized by Move For Hunger at the International Association of Movers’ annual conference in Orlando in early October.

Since joining Move For Hunger in 2011, Crown Relocations USA has delivered over 89,000 lbs. of food to food banks all across North America—enough to provide more than 75,000 lifesaving meals to the less fortunate. Movers in the Move For Hunger network actively support their local food banks by urging their customers to donate the non-perishable food items in their pantry or cupboards before the move.

In 2014 alone, Crown Relocations delivered more than 46,000 lbs. to food banks and hunger relief associations, continuing their outstanding efforts to abolish hunger. Crown Relocations’ strong commitment to hunger relief and international reach was vital to Move For Hunger’s recent expansion into Canada by piloting programs in their Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices.

“We are honored to present our IAM Mover of the Year award to a partner that has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of thousands of hungry people across North America,” said Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “By including Move For Hunger into their daily processes, Crown Relocations is taking the fight against hunger into the homes of the thousands of people who relocate each year through the Crown network. We can’t thank the entire team at Crown Relocations enough for their continued support in our fight to end hunger.”
