In 2022, forest fires in Marmaris, Türkiye, burned approximately 4,500 hectares of land. For comparison, that’s over 8,400 football pitches, about half the size of Paris, or approximately nine times the size of Central Park in New York.
While restoration started in 2023, we want to play our part in reversing the devastating impacts.
Sustainable Action at Crown
At Crown Worldwide Group, we recognise our responsibility to combat the effects of climate change. We’ve taken steps to drive positive environmental impact over the last few years, including our partnership with carbon accounting platform Normative and the employment of a Group ESG Director in 2023.
In Türkiye specifically, previous actions have included expanding energy efficiency measures, reducing waste through effective waste management, and installing a new water purification system to minimise reliance on plastic bottled water.
Our 60th Anniversary
As 2025 marks Crown Worldwide Group’s 60th anniversary, we continue to honour the Crown ethos of giving back. Crown offices around the globe have been participating in their own volunteering initiative to support two UN Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education and Climate Change.
To commemorate this celebration in Türkiye, we’re collaborating with the Atatürkçü Düşünce Derneği on a tree-planting campaign. This meaningful campaign looks to restore the beautiful nature of Marmaris lost to forest fires over recent years.
The saplings will be provided by the General Directorate of Forestry, costing 70 TL per tree.
A commemorative sign titled “Crown Relocation Memorial Forest” will be placed at the planting site to serve as a lasting tribute to Crown’s commitment to nature and sustainability.
